Welcome to Saratoga
This residential community offers a charming vibe and beautiful estates.
Located just 20 minutes southwest of San Jose, the southernmost city of the Bay Area’s Silicon Valley, Saratoga falls right on the edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains American Viticultural Area and features many fine wineries within its borders.
Originally settled as a center of industry, the site of a sawmill, tannery, and paper mill in the 1850s, Saratoga grew to become a resort town before morphing into an agricultural hotspot and, finally, a residential community.
As Saratoga is just 45 minutes from the Pacific Coast, many wealthy politicians and businessmen have chosen it as the site for their huge residential estates. Today, some of them, including Hakone Estate and Gardens and Villa Montalvo (now known as Montalvo Arts Center), serve as centers of arts and culture.
An attractive residential community with a small-town vibe, the city is well-known for its excellent schools, fine dining, unique shops, and distinctive cultural institutions.
